Rocking chair

 Tickling the light.
in the  now
spare bed room

Rocking chair
I am free of your wooden bars

Half shut Venetian blinds
It’s a jungle in here

Rich soil covers the floor
Snot on the walls

Heads on the night stand
Lions in the corner

Tripping over old toys

Distant train
It’s time for me
To hear you again

Living the cover up With the odd vacation to myself / Coda / KC, MO, / March 11, 2016 #poetry

Schwervon!

Under raps
Time spent
Developing the characters
Keeping the meals down
Second guessing the eyes
Of all those imaginary
Monsters

Constructing a puzzle
Out of poker chips
And auto parts
Shoes strings, duct tape
Gummy worms
Sour grapes

Taping our shoes
To look like duck fins

Living the cover up
With the odd vacation to myself

Living upside down is a bitch

Almost just as hard as
Facing a pack of tireless
Barking dogs that never ever
Sleep

I met the Pope
and he seemed like a dope
I said how’s it to hanging?
And gave me a rope.

This is not everything
This is not all bad
This is not even mostly bad

The skyscraper lights hover
Like charged particles
Drum beats flickering
In the hairy city streets

Don’t know how to end it
Never great with endings
I don’t know how this will
End but I am sure…

Schwervon!

I’ve got smiles for miles and miles
Like fish in the sea

Every one is different
Every one an ocean
With a million more fish
And twice as many smiling fish eyes
And hookless smiling mouths

There are no sidewalks in the ocean
No traffic lights
No stars
No fucking mid westerners
Complaining about the coasts

Blue and black
White fish flesh and cold cold blood
And very little fat

Reviving and pushing
We learn to push back
With our fins and gills

We don’t need a mask
We don’t need a spear
We fly under water
We enter the colors
We leave blanketed
By the salt and the sand
The Rock
And the land

The cookies move within us
Repackaged
To look like other cookies.
We change our hair
We Change our friends but
Now is forever
Now is a forest of

Schwervon!

photo by Fally Afani @ I Heart Local Music

Enormous green phosphorescent cock
Penetrating the night sky

Anxious young mutt
Plowing the yellow grasses
For petrified poos

I hear you knocking.

You can come
But please remove your shoes

Holders of the brass keys
Public forgers
Of the four way test

I am speechless for you
But this is not to say
I have nothing to say

Say say say
What you want
But don’t play games with my affection

Slaves to the engineer
Saved by the engineer

No more blowing out
Of the the candles
No more wishing
No more washing
No Wishy washy
Pish posh slish slosh

The make up on your face is fine
Your ears are fine
Your hands are fine

Like a bird on your shoulder
You wear that shit around
How ever you like

Pride
The herd
Witness protection
Chisel your reaction
Fan your…
